Our projects, which are funded by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and have undergone independent audits and been approved by the IFC, demonstrate Özlem Akademi Education and Consultancy Ltd.’s international process safety expertise in the fields of BEKRA, SEVESO, ATEX, HAZOP, LOPA, FTA/ETA, QRA, FERA, SIL, PKD, EERA and API 571/580/581 (RBI).

The studies listed below—including the Safety Report, Major Accident Scenario Report, Explosion Protection Document and Functional Safety (SIL) verification/audit outputs—have successfully completed the IFC approval process following international audits.

Istanbul, Turkey, 30 April 2025—IFC has announced a new investment to support the long-term refinancing of the modernisation and expansion project at Antalya Airport, Turkey’s second-largest airport in terms of international passenger traffic. The airport’s expansion not only increases capacity and improves services but also strengthens the country’s tourism sector and promotes economic growth.

🌍 HIPPS (High Integrity Pressure Protection System) Projesi

Project Description:

As part of Akın Endüstri’s international project portfolio, Özlem Akademi carried out the SIL validation and SIL verification processes for the HIPPS (High Integrity Pressure Protection System) project.

HIPPS systems ensure the safety of equipment, the environment and personnel by preventing pressure limits from being exceeded on lines critical to process safety.

This project served as a reference study demonstrating that safety instrumentation systems with a high integrity level were validated in accordance with international standards (IEC 61508 / IEC 61511).

🏭 Ema Chemical Systems Industry and Trade Inc.

HAZOP, LOPA and SIL analyses, SIL validation and verification, the Explosion Protection Document, the conformity assessment of explosion-proof equipment, and the visual and close inspection of explosion-proof equipment in accordance with EN 60079-17 were carried out by Özlem Akademi Education and Consultancy Inc.

 

Project Owner: Huntsman International - EMA Chemical Systems Inc.

Özlem Academy Training and Consultancy Inc. provided support to EMA Chemical Systems Inc., a subsidiary of Huntsman International in Turkey, during its establishment process, including HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study), LOPA (Layer of Protection Analysis), the preparation of the Explosion Protection Document (EPD), the suitability assessment of explosion-proof equipment, and the inspection of explosion-proof equipment in accordance with the EN 60079-17 standard.

 

Özlem Academy’s expertise in process safety analysis has been audited by Huntsman’s specialist teams, internationally approved, and the firm has been officially appointed as an authorised consultancy in Turkey.
